A PAGE: School Board Meeting 1/14

The Board of Education meet on Jan 14th - A-PAGE was in attendance. Key items of parent interest were:

Community Gardens has been funded $10,000 to continue to provide classroom instruction at AES.

Athletic and VoAg complex planning continues - the VoAg complex will now be a separate facility across Carroll Street on the south side of AHS.

Embrace a positive attitude in working with the district and parents.
Use existing and established district meetings to facilitate communication to the district from parents.
Facilitate communication of information to parents through the use of the internet, newspapers, emails, etc.
Act as a forum for parents to voice their concerns and advocate for the parent majority.
Collaborate on solutions to problems and issues.
Stay informed on regulations, mandates and budgets that affect district decisions.
Foster an environment that allows open and honest communication.
