Alamosa schools in "Lock Out" situation

Important news from the Valley Courier at 10:56 am this morning:

ALAMOSA– An Alamosa school district official confirmed at 10:44 a.m. today that Alamosa Schools are currently in a "lock out" situation due to an unconfirmed threat against the district.

Alamosa police are reported to have presence in each of the district's school buildings.

Goals/Objectives

Embrace a positive attitude in working with the district and parents.
Use existing and established district meetings to facilitate communication to the district from parents.
Facilitate communication of information to parents through the use of the internet, newspapers, emails, etc.
Act as a forum for parents to voice their concerns and advocate for the parent majority.
Collaborate on solutions to problems and issues.
Stay informed on regulations, mandates and budgets that affect district decisions.
Foster an environment that allows open and honest communication.
