Issue: Lunch at K-2. ***Resolved***
Current Status: The correct tables have arrived and are in use. The lunch time has been extended by 5 minutes. More tables and extended time seem to have solved the issue.
Old Status: The wrong tables were delivered. They are still waiting for the correct tables to arrive.
Old Status: The new tables have arrived but one was broken upon arrival.
History: The lunch room is short 3 tables. These have been ordered and are expected to be delivered in February. In addition, Specials and some 1st grade classes will start going to lunch 5 minutes earlier. Data will continue to be collected and studied.

Issue: Gravel for AES Overflow Parking Lot. ***Resolved***
Current Status: The lot has been graded and leveled with road base, not gravel. Cones are set up to direct traffic. It has been suggested by the Building Accountability Committee that lines be painted since the cones get knocked over. The BAC also suggested that a note with diagram be sent home to parents explaining the intended traffic flow for drop off and pick up in this area.
Old Status: The Building Accountability Committee was told by Mr. Bilderbeck that this project is a Summer priority for Mr. Alejo and the District.
Old Status: Bids are being sought.
History: The issue was brought to the School Board at the Feb. 6, 2012 meeting during the DAC report. The Board agreed that the issue needs to be addressed and will begin looking at the project.

Issue: Student/teacher contact time.
Current Status: The issue arose at the March 19, 2012 School Board meeting during the discussion on the 2012-2013 School Calendar. Several Board members expressed similar concerns over the amount of time teachers spend during the school day on tasks other than teaching, specifically meetings and committee work.

Issue: Alignment of ASD Spring Break with ASU, TSJC, and all other Valley School Districts.
Current Status: ASU contacted Mr. Alejo about aligning the ASU Spring Break with ASD beginning in 2015. Mr. Alejo referred ASU to the SAC to begin the dialog.
History: Prior to the 2010-2011 School Year there had been a tradition for the Alamosa School District (ASD) to align its Spring Break with Adams State University (ASU). Many other Valley Districts also followed this tradition, however, in recent years because of concerns for CSAP/TCAP scores and being that the ASU Spring Break falls within the CSAP/TCAP window, ASD and many other Valley Districts have decided to break from this tradition.
