Parent Teacher Conference Sign-ups at OMS

In response to the results of the Parent Needs Assessment that A-PAGE created and implemented for the District at the end of the last school year, we have researched different ways to schedule Parent Teacher Conferences for our schools. In the first round of conferences for this year, coming up in early October, we are assisting OMS in a trial run using the website PTCFast.com to schedule Parent Teacher Conferences. If all goes well, other district schools will use this website for scheduling next time.

Any OMS parent wishing to schedule a Parent Teacher Conference on either October 4th or October 9th can click on this link, http://www.ptcfast.com/schools/A_PAGE_OMS_School, to sign-up. If you don't want to do this online (or can't for some reason), call the school at 587-1650 and the secretary will sign you up. Sign-ups will be open only a short time, now through October 3rd at 3:30 pm. If you want to sign-up after 3:30 on October 3rd, you will need to call the school at 587-1650.

April OMS BAC (4/30/12)

The OMS Accountability Committee held it's regularly scheduled meeting on April 30, 2012.

There will be a 5th grade parents night on May 7th at 6 pm.

The BAC received the results from the Parents Perceptions of Community Alcohol survey done at Parent/Teacher Conferences.

OMS Accountability Meeting (3/26)

OMS Accountability Committee was held March 26, 2012. Registration and CHAMPS (health screenings) will be held from August 6-9^th. The implementation of Standards Based Report Cards will not occur for the 2012-2013 school year. OMS wants to improve parent teacher conferences, if you have any suggestions write them in the comments section below and we'll pass them on to OMS.

OMS Accountability Meeting (2/21/12)

OMS Accountability Committee was held February 21, 2012. The GEAR-UP program still has slots available for 7^th graders. Ask your 7^th grader about GEAR-UP or contact OMS directly for more information.

The Calendar Committee met and decided on a calendar. It will be presented to the teachers and then reviewed by the committee again and finally taken to school board for a vote. 

Parent-Teacher Conferences were held and parental input is wanted on ideas of how to improve attendance. What are your thoughts?  

OMS Accountability Meeting (1/30/12)

OMS Accountability Meeting was held January 30, 2012.  Improving Parent Involvement was discussed as a group.  The school district will be implementing in Fall 2012 a  Standards-Based Report Card to Students, all students K-8. 

OMS Accountability Meeting (11/28)

OMS Accountability Meeting was on November 28. One of Alamosa School District’s goals for the district improvement plan is to have parent involvement. This article was handed out to be reviewed by committee members and questions were posed from Susie Paulson (OMS principal) to be discussed during our next meeting.
